Friday, Adam Yauch, aka MCA from The Beastie Boys died at age 47. Don't know the whole story behind that but he's been suffering from cancer and that's what the cause of death. Everybody has or had a copy of their 1986 Licensed To Ill at some point or another and Paul's Boutique, the Capitol followup remain the two more big influential albums of that era.http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/beastie-boys-co-founder-adam-yauch-dead-at-48-20120504
In the ten years of blogging, I have seen many artists pass by and documented it at some point although most of what I blogged before 2006 are now in a internet dust particles never to be read since the websites they appear on don't exists. Adam Yauch is one of many that have taken that lonesome road back to the great beyond and one day you and I will be walking on that road too. Just hope it's not sooner than later.
A strange footnote: The Dirt Drifters have imploded. The band whose country sound is more Kentucky Headhunters than Jon Bon Jovi have canceled all of their touring dates due to a private and personal matter.
Hopefully it will be resolved whatever the matter may be, The Dirt Drifters remains one of the true country rocking bands that somehow you don't hear on KHAK or that new KISS country channel that's on 96.5. Their recent album This Is My Blood holds up very well.
2021 update: Why is this the most viewed of the month is beyond me. Perhaps the Dirt Drifters's site ended up becoming a sports betting website might have something to do with this so the link was deleted. This is a record collecting site, not a fucking Draft Kings knockoff. Flush your money down the loo for better results.

Crabby: I'm sorry to hear about your friend, man. That sucks. You've gotta watch out for that lawnmowing -- I've loved doing it for years, but you can get into it and push your body to the max and never even realize it. I've gotten wrapped up in getting the job done many times and hadta stop and back off for awhile....
Anyway, hang in there. It's always great to read your stuff, and I hope to be doing it for a lot longer....
